Course Scope:
Special Education: Reading APP (Read 180 and System 44 is a specially designed program to address students IEP goals. This course consists of two different programs:
Clark County School District provides required supplies to students, such as books, paper, and pen/pencils. However, some parents/guardians choose to purchase additional supplies such as backpacks and organizers.
Tardy Policy
Tardiness is a serious disruption to the educational program. Every student is required to be in his/her seat when the tardy bell rings. With that in mind, the Moapa Valley High School Tardy Policy will be strictly enforced.

Description of Grading Procedures
Classroom Participation is expected and will be part of the students’ grade.
Make-up Work, Late Work, and Attendance
o Assignments turned in late will be given the following credit:
100% 1-3 days past the due date
75% 4-6 days past the due date
50% 7-9 days past the due date
25% 10 or more days past the due date.
Attendance
After the seventh unexcused absence, students will be denied credit and will receive an “F” for the course

Course Scope:

- Read 180 and System 44-READ 180 and System 44 are comprehensive systems of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development proven to raise reading achievement for struggling readers in grades 4–12+. Designed for any student reading two or more years below grade-level.
- Scholastic Read 180 and System 44 Programs • Scholastic Action Magazine
- Edmodo and Google Classroom websites will be used for some quizzes and assignments

- On the first tardy and second tardy the student will be warned.
- On the third tardy the parent will be contacted.
- On the fourth tardy the student will be sent to the Deans’ office and placed on
a Required Parent Conference.

- 80%-89% =B
- 70%-79% C
- 60%-69% D
- Below 60% F

- Quarter Grades (1and 3) =40%
- Quarter Grades (2 and 4)= 40%
- Semester Exams= 20%

- Classroom Assignments and Participation= 30%
- Tests and Quizzes= 60%
- Homework+10%

- Follow the posted school rules and classroom rules.
Citizenship
- An outstanding citizen grade (O) will be given to students who have exceptional behavior on a consistent basis as exemplified by appropriate manners, respect, and classroom behavioral expectations.
- Satisfactory citizenship grade (S) will be given to students who have satisfactory behavior on a consistent basis as exemplified by appropriate manners, respect, and classroom behavioral expectations with minimal corrective reminders.
- Needs improvement citizenship grade (N) will be given to students who have exhibited consistent poor behavior as exemplified by continual correction, phone calls home and\or disciplinary referrals.
- Unsatisfactory Citizenship grade (U) will be given to students who have exhibited consistent disruptive and destructive behaviors that impede their ability to learn or the ability of other students in the classroom.
